2 How We Use Your Information
- Process account registration, KYP membership applications, and annual renewals.
- Verify M-Pesa payment confirmation codes and activate or renew your membership.

- Provide the AI Resume & ATS Analyzer and job-matching features.
- Highlight youth stories, success cases, and achievements through our media platforms.

3 Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data in line with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, on the basis of: your consent (given when you register or submit information), performance of the membership arrangement between you and KYP, and our legitimate interest in running programs, verifying payments, and preventing fraud (such as reuse of M-Pesa transaction codes).
4 Membership & Payment Data
KYP membership registration (Ksh500) and annual renewal (Ksh1000) are paid independently by you via M-Pesa Paybill 522522, Account Number 8022319. KYP never receives your M-Pesa PIN or direct access to your mobile money account — we only ever see the transaction confirmation code and phone number you choose to submit for manual verification by an administrator.
5 AI Processing & Third Parties
If you use the AI Resume & ATS Analyzer, the text of your uploaded resume (and any job description you provide) is sent to Google's Gemini AI service to generate ATS scoring and suggestions. If that service is temporarily unavailable, the portal falls back to an offline scoring tool that runs entirely on our own server. We do not control how Google processes data sent to its API beyond generating the response returned to you.
Job listings on the portal may be automatically imported from external job boards (such as BrighterMonday and MyJobMag); we are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third-party sites.
6 Data Retention
Membership and payment records are retained for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for accounting, audit, and dispute-resolution purposes. Uploaded resumes used for one-off AI analysis are processed and are not permanently stored unless you have separately saved them to your profile. You may request deletion of your account data at any time, subject to our legal obligation to retain certain financial records.
7 How We Protect Your Information
Your privacy matters to us. Passwords are stored using one-way cryptographic hashing and are never visible to KYP staff. Access to membership and payment data is limited to authorized KYP administrators. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone outside KYP unless you give consent or it is required by law.
8 Cookies & Tracking
Our website uses session cookies to keep you securely logged in, and may use simple analytics cookies to help us understand how visitors use the site and to improve the online experience. You can adjust your browser settings to decline non-essential cookies if you prefer.
9 Your Rights
Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to:
- Ask what information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Withdraw consent for us to use your personal information.
- Request deletion of your information, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC), Kenya, if you believe your data has been mishandled.

10 Children's Privacy
The KYP portal and membership are intended for individuals aged 18 and above, or younger participants with the consent and involvement of a parent or guardian for specific programs. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without such consent.

By participating in KYP activities, you agree that your photos, videos, and stories may be shared on our platforms to inspire others. If you wish to withdraw this consent at any time, you can contact us directly.
